CARROT, ORANGE & GINGER SMOOTHIE

img_0599I am not one for going crazy for juices or smoothies as in general even the homemade ones can contain a significant amount of sugar. However, during this Winter period when you need a little vitamin boost or extra fruit & vegetables portions I will make a smoothie using my NutriBullet.

Carrots also provide lots of vitamin C, D, E and K, and good  minerals such as magnesium, potassium and calcium.

Oranges are also high in vitamin C and are great for an immune booster.

Ginger as well all know is great for the immune system too and adds a nice little kick to the smoothie.

Ingredients – makes 1

  • 1 orange – juice squeezed
  • 2 medium sized carrots
  • 1 cm of ginger
  • Mint leaves (optional)
  1. Place all the ingredients in the NutriBullet with a little water and ice (please see image below)
  2. Blitz away.
  3. If it appears to be a little bit thick in texture, add extra water.
  4. Remember this is a smoothie and not a juice, if you want to make a juice then simple strain the ingredients after they have been blitzed or use a juicer!Enjoyimg_0596
